Pet Peeve of the Day

Parents who bring their multiple screaming children out to the mall/store/public places.

If you can afford to drop $100+ at each store I see you in, you can afford a babysitter, just sayin’…

The part of this that bothers me the most is that most parents intuitively know their child’s attention span limit. If you know your child has a history of screaming after being in public places after 20 minutes, don’t take them out all day!

If you know they just sleep in their stroller the whole time then that’s great. Have at it.

A big C’MON to the parents who decide to drag their 3+ kids out to Costco and let them run amok through the aisles grabbing samples, racing between customers, and grabbing toys and leaving them everywhere. The public is not your kids babysitter, nor is the nice employee who picks up the mess they've left behind. The store is not a racetrack. The store is not a venue for your highest falsetto howl.

Yeah, yeah, I know sometimes it’s just impossible to hire a babysitter last minute. I know some parents just want to involve their children with day-to-day adventures. But if you’re causing a disturbance and other parents are giving you the evil-eye for that grimace-inducing screech coming out of your kid?

Reconsider.
